She obtained her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1974, with a doctoral stay at the University of Arizona, USA in 1983. Currently serving as a senior researcher of the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) and a professor and consultant at the University of General San Martín, Argentina. Throughout her career, Prof. Dr. Litter has focused on innovative advanced technologies for the treatment of pollutants in water and air, with a particular emphasis on heterogeneous photocatalysis and the use of iron-based nanomaterials. Her research has resulted in the publication of over 250 scientific papers in esteemed journals, books, and book chapters, solidifying her standing as a respected authority in the field.
Her achievements have earned her memberships in esteemed scientific organizations, including the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) in 2019, the Academy of Sciences of Latin America (ACAL) in 2020, and the Academy of Environmental Sciences of Argentina in 2022.
