Abstract: Microbubbles were the subject of numerous experiments and theoretical analysis over the past 100 years. Linked with the discovery
and evolution of ultrasound, they were considered to be excellent echoenhancers. From the theories on acoustic waves in antiquity
and the discovery of ultrasound, to the genesis of microbubbles around 1968, in our paper we trace the magnificent story of these “magical”
bubbles.
