Bentham Science congratulates Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman, FRS for being selected for the award, 'China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award', by NOSTA (National Office for Science & Technology Awards) for the year 2020. NOSTA has selected Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman for the award to acknowledge his numerous contributions in the field of chemistry. Prof. Atta-ur-Rahman has a longstanding relationship with Bentham Science as the founding Editor-in-Chief for its high impact journal, Current Medicinal Chemistry. This top international award has previously been given to several leading scientists of the world including the Nobel Laureates, Dr. Carlo Rubbia (Nobel Prize in physics, 1984) and Dr. Zhores I. Alferov (Nobel Prize in physics, 2000). He is an Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Fellow of Royal Society (London).
Prof. Atta-ur-Rahman is author/editor of over 1,250 international publications including 341 books largely published by major US and European presses on the basis of which he has been awarded honorary doctorate degrees by many top universities including the University of Cambridge (UK). He has won the highest civil Awards from Austria and China and was elected Honorary Life Fellow of Kings College, Cambridge university. A number of research institutions have been named in his honour in China and Malaysia.
