The arms represent a challenge in body contouring surgery. Deformities of the upper arms
vary in presentation from minor defects to extensive skin excesses. When skin elasticity is good and
fatty deposits limited, traditional forms of liposuction may be utilized. In the massive weight loss
patient, the deformity often encountered is that of extensive excess skin, which will be the subject of
discussion in this chapter.
