Diagnostic imaging tests play an increasingly important role in diagnosing a
difficult airway. The variety of tests and their relatively easy availability provide
anaesthesiologists with valuable information regarding the challenge of potential
difficulty in managing airways. In this chapter, the radiological parameters proven most
useful in the various imaging techniques commonly employed in clinical practice will
be reviewed: conventional radiology, computed tomography, and ultrasonography.
