Anatomical study of skull and face bones is complex and is important in
understanding these structures to obtain correct radiographic projections, radiographic
findings and interpretation of these images. Modern diagnostic image offers a wide
range of methods and techniques, allowing us to study the function and craniofacial
morphology in detail, regardless of projection. X-rays emerge as a diverging cone
beam from the source and the image produced is composed of multiple superimposed
structures.
